Game Overview

Imposter is a social deduction game where players try to identify the one person who doesn't belong. It's perfect for parties, family game nights, team building events, or any gathering where you want to spark conversation and laughter.

Setup (2 minutes)

1. Choose your mode: Use "One Device" to pass a single phone around, or "Multiple Devices" so everyone plays on their own phone.
2. For Multiple Devices: One person creates a room and shares the 4-letter code. Everyone else joins using that code.
3. Need 3+ players: The game works best with 4-8 players, but supports up to 20!

Gameplay

1. Roles are assigned: Everyone secretly views their role. Most players see the same word (like "Pizza"). One player — the Imposter — sees only "IMPOSTER" with no word.
2. Give clues: Go around the circle. Each player says ONE word that relates to the secret word. The imposter must fake it!
3. Discuss: After clues, players discuss who they think is suspicious.
4. Vote: Everyone votes for who they think is the imposter. Majority wins!

Winning the Game

Crewmates win if they correctly vote out the imposter.

The Imposter wins if someone else gets the most votes, or if there's a tie.

Custom Word Lists

Want to theme your game? Click "Edit Word List" in the lobby to add your own words! Great ideas include:

• Movie titles for film buffs
• Inside jokes for friend groups
• Vocabulary words for classroom games
• Industry terms for work team building
• Holiday-themed words for seasonal parties

Words reset to family-friendly defaults when you leave, so feel free to experiment!
